The Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology (WISET, Moon Aree, President
of WISET) announced that it appointed the second ‘WISET Next Generation Committee’ to reflect the voices
of the next generation of science and technology in policy on April 1, 2024.

The WISET Next-Generation Committee was first established in 2022 to increase the understanding and policy
participation of women in STEM and to foster the next generation of female opinion leaders in STEM.

While the first committee was exclusively composed of female scientists and engineers, the second committee
consists of 10* male and female scientists and engineers under the age of 45 who are active in various fields
such as industry, university and high school, and research institutes. This is to reflect diverse voices from science
and technology communities, including policy setting for all scientists and engineers, not just women in STEM,
the spread of a culture of diversity and inclusion in science and technology communities, and the higher number
of female students entering science and technology communities. They are appointed for a one-year term and
can be reappointed.
