The Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology (WISET, Moon Aree, President of WISET)
and Ewha Womans University (Kim Eun Mee, President of Ewha Womans University) announced on May 23, 2024,
that they signed an MOU to foster future female talent in STEAM and establish a university-based support model
to help female researchers grow.

The MOU aims to combine the experiences and know-how of both organizations based on a mutual understanding
of the importance of university environments to encourage female middle and high school students to enter STEM
fields, promote the growth of female researchers, and foster global female leaders.

The details of the MOU encompass the development and expansion of programs aimed at encouraging female
middle and high school students to enter STEM fields, the support for the employment and growth of female
university students in STEM fields via W-Bridge*, and fostering the academic activities and global leadership of
female STEM researchers.

*W-Bridge: A platform that provides customized services for women's career growth in STEM at each phase of their lifecycle.

After the MOU, both institutions will provide a mentoring program for female middle and high school students
in July 2024, including special lectures on natural science and engineering majors, laboratory experiences, and campus
tours with seniors. They will also collaborate to support the research of female researchers with master's and doctoral
degrees and expand their global network, share information, and link the W Bridge program.

Moon Aree, President of WISET, mentioned, “It is crucial to create an environment friendly to natural science and
engineering from an early age to help many female middle and high school students pursue their dreams of natural
science and engineering. This collaboration will enable us to strengthen our lifecycle growth support model to help
female elementary, middle, and high school students develop their dreams and continue their careers after entering
a STEM field.”
